my cousins Ika and Kak Shireen and their mom fetched me and my mom and off we went to Harbourfront Centre where my grandma and the others were waiting. we thought we were late, but we later found out that we had to wait for another hour to our departure. and when it was time, we boarded the ferry, and.. it was nice. the ferry went up and down smoothly against the waves, and it sure rocked us to sleep, for like an hour or so. the journey to Batam took about 1.5 hours, so once we were awoken from our short nap, Ika, Kak Shireen and i headed to the sun deck (i think that's what it's called) and the wind was fierce! :D and of course, i got a bit hair-conscious coz i was afraid the strong wind would make my short fringe go center-parting. hahahaha.
as soon as we reached, we were led to a private bus with the Chinese-Indonesian tour guide who chatted with us as the bus drove off to our first destination. and i think the tour guide whose name is Bobby (which i hate coz it only reminds me of our crazy-barking neighbour's dog), was trying to speak in our Singaporean Malay language. you know, without the Bahasa Baku and all. like,

hahaha. i can only remember those two. so the first stop was at this kueh lapis + kopi store where we can have a taste of the kueh lapis and kopi/teh for free, before deciding to purchase them. then we headed to a keropok store where unsurprisingly, all the makciks did their borong. oh yeahhh and the tauke there had this high-pitched shrieking voice! it was as if his voice was just about to break but something went wrong. hahaha. most of us looked directly at him when we first heard him talk. i know it's not nice of us lah but hey, i was waiting for him to like clear his throat and hear a normal man's voice or something, but nothing happened. lol. had dinner at this Sederhana restaurant.. where something ubber shocking happened that's kind traumatizing, if you think about it. it's a good thing there were no other witnesses, except for Ika coz she was there with me. and i rather not talk about it here. hahaha oh god.
so for the rest of the day, we were taken to 3 different shopping malls, 2 hours spent at each. i wished i had my own money so i can exchange them all for Rupiah and shop like crazy. coz the Matahari mall at Nagoya Hill have stuff that i guess i'd wear. i only got myself a tshirt dress and a wooden keychain for Dear with our names inked on it. call me tacky, cheesy, whatever, but my bf can be very fussy sometimes so it can be quite hard. lol. and i don't care that i only got one piece of apparel, coz we bought lots of food and donut! :D
well, i guess that's all i can say about the trip to Batam. oh, and i don't have pictures coz i don't have a camera. i usually use my sister's, but she lost it in KL, like wtfksncyrbeyxz!! -___-" but she'll be getting a super awesome one at IT Fair next month, so let's all cross fingers on that everybody!
a day after i returned from Batam, i was feeling a bit down. like, about-to-have-a-fever down. instead, i had this horrible flu that caused an irritation to my throat. i could barely swallow my own saliva. and i've been sneezing like hell, what with mucus trying to seep out and it got very irritating. and disgusting, i know. it woke me up in the middle of the night just because i had trouble breathing through my nose. and due to that, Dear and i can't go out to celebrate our anniversary..
but it's all good in the end, coz we went out the day after, which was yesterday, to West Coast Park; despite my on-going flu. we din't do much there actually. set up the tent and mat, and just.. chill. the weather was a bit cooler as the sun set. and the breeze was just blissful. in the end, i'm recovering from my flu. well, almost. thanks to his Panadol Cold. haa.
ok, i'm dead beat. can't wait for G-Day. and eek! still have nothing appropriate to wear! D:
